Cool Player Types - What Type are You?

Hello peeps and welcome!

I've played for a while now, well, I lost my previous S4 account and made a new one. I saw when I was playing, that a lot of players say that they can't play, they are nooby or what-have-ya. Well I always told them "Do you know what type you are?" and they would be like "I dunno..."

Well, I'm solving that solution for you! I'm here to explain all the type I know, from all-out strikers to awesome 90%-ters, mention advantages, disadvantages, weapons and skill schemes, and best general play style.

STRIKER

Strikers are well know for their Matrix jumping, their overdose anchoring, and their weak(ish) weapons. Strikers are a speed type, they aim for the ball and goal and nothing else.

Strikers are generally hard to hit, especially those who are melee types (i.e. Plasma Sword, Counter Sword, Storm Bat) because of their jumping ability and SP Mastery. The downside to this is that if you corner a Striker, its like like hitting an extremely large target with a bat. Their as dead as...well...dead I guess?

Strikers generally go for the SP Mastery skill, but those who like a challenge play with Anchor instead. Their primary (or 1st) weapon is the Handgun, due to its movement speed, followed secondly with the Plasma Sword (the charge attack is pretty nifty when out of SP).

BACKER

One of my first type I tried. The Backer.

Now in a TD, everyone shouldn't run in and get the ball, only the Striker types do that. But what would happen if the Striker got caught in a corner? Well like I said before, their toast. Now thats where the Backer comes in! The Backer is the "attention seeker". They draw the attention of the enemy to them, and provide a safe enough passage for the ball to go to the goal.

Backers are great for damage, they can do quite a lot to defend a striker. However, Backer's themselves are easy to kill once that shield is down and they're reloading, so watch out!

Backers use the Block skill to shield the Striker from damage. Backer tend to go for the more offence, get accurate types of weapons, such as the Revolver, Sub Machine Guns and the Plasma Sword. These are damage based, so increases to weapon damage is great.

INVADER

The bells have rung for the Defender's life! The Invader is very sneaky and invades the enemy goal BEFORE the ball gets near. The Invader's job is to wipe out the defence, and let the ball "flow" go smoother and easier to victory!

Invader are great at wiping out Defences, whether that be actual players or Sentry weapons. The bad, and darker side to them is that they are generally on their own, so they must learn to cope fighting two or more players at once.

Invaders are more heavy weapon, than light compared to the Striker. A good combo would be Plasma Sword, Heavy Machine Gun (Or Sub) and Revolver. I recomend the Fly or Anchor skill to avoid being too noticed.

NINJA

One of the roles I play <3. Since I've mentioned Invader, I'll do Ninja as well. Ninjas are your worst nightmare when you have low HP or on your own, especially for Strikers. One minute your ok, next minute WHAM! And your dead. Not fun...

Ninja are stealthy at start, and stealthy at end. In conclusion, hard to notice unless you actually trained to detect without the Detect skill. These guys generally go on their own, for obvious reasons, and run around looking for "loners".
Not much to say really about them...eeek...

A Ninja must-have is the Invisible skill. I know...you should know that...no point in me mentioning it...duhhh. Ninja vary in 2 forms, the melee and the gunner type. For melee, ps is your main, whilst cs and/or bat is your secondary. A revolver
or a shotgun is useful as third. As for gunner types, revolver, shotgun and ps are nice <3.#

Ninja rock as offense, but suck at defense. The invisible "see-you" disadvantage also accounts as a disadvantage for ninjas. For those who don't know about the "see-you" disadvantage, heres a summary. If you invis, the enemy can see a see-through version of you for 4 seconds (and I timed it O.o, that 4 seconds allows the enemy to turn you into a pile of mushy peas, for them to eat later.

HEALER

The angels have arrived!! Well...sorta. Healers are the strikers best friend, because they heal them! Apart from that, the healer defends themselves, and heals others. Not much to say there <3

Healing is the Healer's main job, defending themselves comes later. That priority means that there aren't many healers out there (I'm kinda 1 btw <3), and finding one is pretty hard and annoying.
As for defending themselves, well they just TACTICALLY (in caps for those who don't understand the importance of this) attack their enemy. Lovely...

Healers go for the mind energy weapon as their SECONDARY weapon. Primary is usually something close range, like a shotgun, and the third is a back-up weapon
such as sentry nell. The skill that most healers I've seen use is fly or anchor, to get to the tactical places easily.

Healers aren't always the main target for concern with the other team, its usually the striker. Healers cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT handle more than 2 enemies at once! They will be mushier than a ninja! Good thing is that healers are actually really useful, and racking up healing points is great <3.

DEFENDER

Now that we've covered the main offensive, lets go defensive. The Defender. The goalposts only little helper, excluding sentry. These dude will do whatever it takes to make sure that that ball does not go anywhere near his/her goalpost.
THE GREAT GUARDIAN OF THE GOALPOST!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!! YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!

A-anyway...Defenders are DEFENSIVE!!! (in caps as I've seen so many "offensive" defenders, in both language and style). These guys love the big weapons, and killing strikers <3. They will aim for the enemy and nothing else, main priority being the striker.

Defenders are heavy wepaon lovers who like to pimp their goalpost with the block skill and sentry. The most common format is smg, hmg, sentry nell and block, but something like hmg, sentry nell, sentry gun and block is ok.

Defenders are weak to invaders, especially the back-up types with the sentry. They dont jump about like ninjas or backers, they stand their ground and get and nice coating of bullets. Disadvantages? SLOW AS MELTED TOFFEE!! Hmg is a slow weapon, so of course, they
can get easily whacked to death if there are too many on the other team attack him/her. Also, once they die, all those nice back-up stuff go with them. defender + more than 3 enemies = dead defender and no defense goalpost = easy win for other team.

TANK

This one is a toughy to explain. These are the front line defense dudes. These are like your Defenders sentry, only that its played by an actual player, and that they may (or may not) play better than the AI.

Tankers have to deal with the majority of the crowd, ranging from strikers, to ninjas and invaders. Whatever hits them, they need to deal with. They never, ever go after the ball, even when dropped. They also never go to the otherside of the map, they have to stay within
their team's "half".

Tanks can use either the +30/+15 hp skill or the block skill, depending on their timing with the block. those who like to use guns, should go for shotgun, revolver, hmg and block, whilst the more melee based should go for ps, cs, sentry and +30/+15 hp.

Tanks are the first defense, so if your attacking their base, you generally have to face them first, which is good as the defender doesn't die (meaning no "we have no defense" complaints when a goal is scored). Downside is the same as defender, once their dead, the defence becomes
thin or either non-existant. no defense = easy goal for other team.

ASSASSIN OR SNIPER

Welcome to some players worst nightmare, the Assassin or morely known as the sniper. Their job is to be the lookout, as well as wiping out anyone who they can get their "hands on" with their railgun.

Snipers are fun, but everyone hates them. Why? well the answer ranges from "they are nooby" to "they can't handle the front lines, idiots". They love to sniper any spawners if they can see them, and they love to sniper anyone thats standing still too. They are your "friendly" lookouts
with aim (at least anyway, take that noob haters <3).

Weapon choice? RAILGUN!!! CANNONADE!!! SEMI RIFLE!! ANYTHING WITH THE ZOOM FUNCTION!! and for skill...FLY!!!!

The reason why I placed those in a crazy/angry manner is due to the fact everyone I've seen as sniper fails this. They tend to go for the short range weapons, which is BAD!

Snipers are weak, once they are stuck, their doomed. Good thing is that if they are not noticed, they can kill everyone with ease...if they can do headshots that it >.>

90%-ers

Finally I present a type which rocks, the 90%-ers.

These aren't the most popular types, nor are they the rarest. These guys are 90% offense, and 10% defense. They run at start, and kill EVERYONE they see. Thats right, everyone! If the enemy has the ball, that 10% comes in. The 90%-er kills the baller, then continues killing and killing and...killing!

Weapon choice is hard. If you have bad aim, I'd go for smg, semi, ps and anchor/+30/+15 hp. For those aim gods then shotgun, revolver/smg, ps or cs and +30/+15 hp. Simple, but effective.

Advantages of 90%-ers is that they clean up the trash, leaving a nice path for the striker, backer and healer to go through. Downside is that 1. they are alone. 2. They don't always get high scores. 3. Noob-haters HATE THEM TO THEIR GUTS!! 4. They kill and nothing else.

EXTRA NOTICE!

If you see anything wrong, or you want anything added, then your more than welcome to tell me. I don't bite, and I swear I won't kill you! Master Spark User Swear!

MORE NOTES!

STRIKER

1. Strikers must always keep 1 eye on the ball. Losing the position of the ball is DISASTEROUS. It means you'll be running around, getting killed, and there will be a less chance that your team will score. Backer and Invaders aren't the type to matrix jump off a wall and score...

2. Striker's have to go with the more "lightweight" weapons. By that I mean you don't go and pick the HMG or shotgun...I've seen a few strikers do that...I gave them a wonderful facial everytime <3.

BACKER

1. Once again keep and eye on the ball ESPECIALLY if your team has it. There is not that much chance of your striker surviving a barrage of 4 players without the backer helping out.

2. Make sure you don't run out of ammo. By that I mean, make sure you have at least 1 shot left, or one green bullet left. If there is nothing to shoot, then reload. That extra bullet can do quite a lot for you.

INVADER

1. When on invis and your sp is running dry, make sure that you find a nice corner to hide in. That box or wall can be useful! If the enemy notices you, like a sniper, you have good cover till you go invis again.

2. If you see more that 3 of the enemy side, BACK OFF. Facing 1 or 2 is fine, but 3 is a challenge and is not advised unless you know you can trash them well (Like myself <3).

3. Be careful of teams with similar equipment set-ups, e.g. they all have sub machine gun and semi rifle. Crossfire with the same weapons is a pain to dodge, however it is easier to come up with a way to wipe them out. Speed of the mind is key!

NINJA

1. make sure you wait at least 2 seconds in cover when activating invisable. Like I said before that "see-you" is the worst, and getting caught is even more. Make sure you time your movements right.

2. NEVER EVER EVER go infront of someone while invisable. The enemy can see you by simply putting their crosshair on you (they can see your name and hp bar), which is like running up to them visable and saying "look! I'm here! Shoot me in the face with your shotgun!". NOT GOOD.

HEALER

1. JUMP AND DODGE! Even though the main threats to the other team is the striker and invader, that doesn't mean you might get targeted or get caught in a cross-fire kind of thing.

2. Be aware of the ball the the players. Tough one that, since some people's brains can only focus on one thing. The healer's main target for healing is the striker, so focus on that. Since they should have the ball, it makes finding the striker or the ball the easier! <3.

DEFENDER

1. Don't sit there by the goalpost forever! Sometimes a good offence is also a good defence! I nice method is to set up the back-ups (sentry, block skill) and somewhat go off and help your team. Please note I said SOMEWHAT, meaning you don't run off to the "front lines" and get blasted to smithereeens!

2. Keeping and eye on WHO has the ball is important. If you team has the ball, you should help out, however if the other team has it, making sure that ball stays on their half of the play area is priority.

TANKER

1. Like I said with the defender, a good offence can play as a good defence. Since tankers are faster than defenders, this makes this job a little easier.

2. Keeping an eye out for anyone on the other team being nearby the goal, or your "half", is also important. Some backers and invaders like to camp by your goal, or nearby it, so when the ball is dropped they pick it up with full sp and dash to the goal. MAKE SURE THEY DON'T GET NEAR!

ASSASSIN OR SNIPER

1. Be aware of whats going on, even the chat. If the ball is dropped and the enemy takes it, make sure that you snipe them, or at least notify that you need defence.

2. Keep moving. A still sniper makes it easier for the other team's sniper to wipe you out. Not a good idea. Instead, move and jump and keep changing sniping location whenever possible. Fly makes a good subsitute if there are no places to snipe.

90%-er

1. Have some indication of where the ball is. You as a 90%-er can score with the ball, but at a slightly slower rate than the striker. This can be useful, but also disasterous. Avoid the ball if you have low HP, its like giving the ball the the other team!

2. Be aware of snipers and wipe them out. Most people don't do that, and its a right pain when the striker gets flattened by a sniper. Trust me, I KNOW! Make sure you have a good priority list of what you should kill. Generally strikers and snipers comes first, and backers and healers last. The defender and tanker can deal with the backers and healers fine.

it's mind energy, not wave :x

and i don't really play any of these styles lmao. I'm a very big mix of a good majority of it. I utilize all 3 of my character slots and made each one specific for certain situations. My main guy is my TD runner, my second is my main person for getting kills with fair offense and defense and my last character is primarily defensive, but with very good offensive capabilities.

1. hg, ps, gauss or burst, sp-mastery
2. semi, ps or cs, sentry or nell, anchor
3. cannon, heal, bat, fly

So, technically, i don't know my play style either

The type of player doesn't generally mean the person actually playing it, it is the role of whatever character your playing really. I have no idea why its called "player type", but thats what I was told. I feel bad now adding this guide...

There's no one specific type, its always a mix of one or more, and it varies from player to player.

Valid and not valid. Depends really on the kind of person you are. Most, or not so many from what your saying, like to base themselves a role. However there are the few, myself now and maybe yourself, that don't base themselves on a type but on strengths instead. There has been the odd person here and then that has based their weapons and such on their weaknesses...

Reading over it, In my case striker and backer, depending on the situation. I am the type who goes to the front line knowing that I am going to die, but attempt to make the TD / support the TD runner.
