That's right! There are skills that many people have learned and nearly mastered in S4 League. Defense, sniping, support, scoring, you name it! All of these types of mastery are essential to a diverse (and therefore solid) team, so it's important to learn to become proficient with a wide variety of skills!

But there's one thing that I have yet to see anyone (including myself) master: Synchronized hugging!

Of course, considering the level requirement to even become capable of using hugging (level 19), you can imagine that it's a really useful skill to have. And it is! You can show affection for anyone, any time! Because this is such an incredibly difficult skill, I must post tips on how to accomplish something as groundbreaking as this:

The Basics

Hugging is accomplished by opening your chat box with F1, F2, or F3, typing /hug, and pressing the Enter key. All in quick succession, this is important! Your character will lean forward and attempt to caress the air in front of them. The objective of this technique is to have another character do the same thing, at the same time. Sounds difficult, and believe me: it IS difficult. When accomplished, you will obtain infinite wisdom and incredible popularity, in addition to being guaranteed to win the next battle you complete with the other character who finished the synchronized hug.

Hugging is not spammable. If you miss with it, or start off-sync with the other character, attempting it again in a short period of time thereafter will not provide the same benefits if you complete a synchronized hug in that time frame. [i]Your effort will be nullified, you must complete the hug the first time you do it, or you must wait until the next golden opportunity. This is usually the next time the orbiting celestial body of your planet appears of a blue hue.

Solo hugs can be used to freely cue others to become ready for a synchronized hug. They can also be spammed, unlike synchronized ones.

If you get the message "you can't use it yet", you are incompetent as declared by the S4 client, and require more experience through prolonged hours of gameplay in order to become capable of using it, sorry. Level 19 is when S4 deems you worthy of obtaining this amazing command, so I suggest you work toward this milestone!

Speed Hugging

To greatly aid you in completing the legendary synchronized hug, it is almost mandatory that you complete a couple of steps to increase the speed and effectiveness of the solo hug:
  • In the options menu on the Social tab, change the command /hug to a one-character command, such as /h. This cuts down on the time required to perform a solo hug, and two finger strokes less time provide less room for keying errors.
  • Configure one of your preset messages in the F5-F10 range to the same command you use to solo hug. This is an even faster of way of performing a solo hug, as instead of pressing an open chat key, two other strokes, and the Enter key, it is condensed to a single key press. This is substantially useful if you are a slow typist.
  • Practice opening the chat box, typing your solo hug command, sending it with Enter, and repeating this over and over again until you can accomplish it in less than one second. To avoid extreme embarrassment, it is advised that you create a passworded or Training room as a training environment where no one can spectate you. This creates a room where you can place test the effectiveness of your strategy without looking like a total failure to your peers.
  • Do not test/practice synchronized hugging. Desecrating such a legendary maneuver is intolerable; you may very well be banned from the server for doing it. This is of utmost importance. Do not attempt practicing it with someone. When the time is right, you will know when you use it, and it will work. Every time.
Once you have taken these steps to increase the chances of a successful synchronized hug, you will be well on your way toward greatness and unspeakable wealthiness.

When the Time is Right

Of course, not every time is suitable for a synchronized hug. Examples of this include room lobbies with empty spots on the roster, in-game in your base area, and with yourself (please, do not ask how to accomplish this).

Look for these situations. Be forewarned, though: these are quite hard to perform.
  • After scoring the ball, walk up to someone else on your team and initiate the solo hug with them. They must be within 16 meters of you when you score, and both of you must have full HP. A body cannot handle a synchronized hug when it is weakened from a bullet. Where's the beauty in that, anyway?!
  • Atop the roof of Neden-3. Both of you must not have any of the following skills equipped: Flying, Anchoring, or Block.
  • Immediately after defeating all 6 opponent players in a full room. The same full HP rule applies here, and all names must be visible on the recent events list in the upper right corner when you initiate the hug.
  • Immediately after being accused of hacking. This both shuts up the offending player and proves that you are not hacking, as you cannot hack a synchronized hug.
