Router Port Mapping

Hello ladies and gents.

Recently as i'm sure you've all been aware, the game has been as laggy as anything to the point where games have become unplayable.

While the game does run through a relay server, it also runs on peer to peer, meaning any issues you have with people getting the red circle above their head are due to your inability (or their inability) to connect directly to you (or them).

This results in you seeing them moving, seeing them shooting, but trying to shoot them or do anything to them will result in them taking no damage whatsoever. In more extreme cases the entire game between everybody will be completely unplayable.

While this was tested to work in Open Beta, I have yet to confirm whether it helps the lag issue in the full release. It's worth a shot however.

Every router differs on how it handles port mapping. The best thing to do is visit http://www.portforward.com for instructions on how to start port mapping with your specific router. Please note that you WILL need to know what the username and password is for router access.

The three ports that you need to map are:

28008 TCP
28012 TCP
28013 TCP

This should allow all S4 traffic to connect straight to you, and should sort out any connection issues that are down to you and your connection. If after mapping these three ports through you are still having connection problems with other players, then that's down to their connection and/or the server, and not you.

If anybody has any questions whatsoever or you're unsure about anything whatsoever, fire your questions my way and i'll do my best to help.
